On Friday 6/14 at 7:40 p.m. Roseville Police responded to the 1600 block of Winchester Way for reports of a shooting.
When Officers arrived on scene they found one victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The wounded victim was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
The sole suspect of the shooting remained on scene throughout the police response. Officers took the suspect into custody.
At this point in the investigation, we know one shot was fired by one suspect, that single shot struck the victim, mortally wounding him. The suspect and victim are known to each other. Several people were present at the time of the shooting, for a social gathering.
The sole suspect is currently booked into the South Placer Jail with a charge of 187 p.c. - murder.
Roseville Police continues to investigate this incident. At this time, we do not believe there are any other suspects outstanding and there’s no ongoing threat to the neighborhood.
