Pedestrian curb ramp improvements happening around Roseville

Updated July 02, 2019
About the project
To improve pedestrian access and meet accessibility standards, we are updating sidewalk curb ramps around Roseville beginning mid-July. These upgrades are required by law when streets are resurfaced. The paving work is scheduled for later this summer.

Construction schedule
Work is anticipated to begin mid-July, with completion by the end of November. Working hours are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday. Periodic weekend work is possible.

Please note the schedule is subject to change due to equipment, materials, weather, and other unexpected conditions.

What to expect
Streets will be open to vehicle traffic, however, portions of sidewalks will be temporarily closed. You are encouraged to use caution when driving, walking, or biking near work zones. During construction, you will not be able to park vehicles near curb ramps.

Construction includes the removal of a portion of the sidewalk, curb, gutter, and a two foot wide strip of asphalt pavement adjacent to the ramp. The concrete ramp, curb, gutter, and sidewalk will be poured and set to cure. Once cured for several days, the removed roadway strip will be paved.

Twenty four hours before the start of construction, nearby residents and businesses will receive notification from the contractor.

Throughout the project, be sure to watch for signs. “No Parking” signs may be temporarily placed on your street while construction is in progress. All residences, schools, churches, parks, and businesses will continue to be accessible.

This project is approximately $2.8 million and funded by the gas tax you pay at the pump.
