Public Power Week Celebrates Community Value

Updated October 07, 2019
Roseville Electric Utility is recognizing its local roots in our community and joining thousands of other municipally-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities nationwide in celebrating Public Power Week, October 6-12, 2019.

“We are proud to be community powered,” said Assistant Director Shawn Matchim. “Public power puts the people of Roseville first, and Public Power Week is the perfect occasion to emphasize the benefits of locally owned power to our customers.”

Unlike investor-owned utilities that answer first to their shareholders, Roseville Electric Utility is a publicly owned utility, which means we’re accountable above all to you, our customers and our neighbors.

About 1 in 4 Californians receive their power from more than 40 publicly owned utilities like ours. Nationwide, there are more than 2,000 community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans.
