Feeling a little cooped up? Let's go exploring with this fun scavenger hunt. You can participate from the comfort of your home.

The hunt began at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 7 and will end at 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2020. Some questions might require a little internet sleuthing, investigation at home or a visit to social media. 

The first three participants plus two randomly selected participants who submit completed and correct answers will win a $25 gift card to a Roseville restaurant. All others who finish will receive a coupon that can be exchanged for a free gift shop item of value $2.50 or less in the Utility Exploration Center gift shop once it reopens. Utilities at Home Scavenger Hunt Rules

The City of Roseville’s Utility Exploration Center (UEC) is hosting a Utilities at Home Scavenger Hunt. The hunt will be begin on Thursday, May 7, 2020 and will end on Thursday, May 14, 2020.

Five winners will receive a $25 gift certificate to a local Roseville restaurant. The five winners will be chosen as follows: the first three people who submit completed and correct scavenger hunts as well as two randomly drawn names from the list of people who submitted completed and correct scavenger hunts during the duration of the contest.

All remaining participants who submit a scavenger hunt will receive a coupon for a free item in the UEC gift shop that is priced at $2.50 or lower. 

The random drawing will be conducted by the UEC by May 20, 2020. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. Prizes will be awarded by the UEC beginning on the day the Center reopens to the public (date to be determined) until Saturday, October 31. All prizes must be picked up at the Utility Exploration Center, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville, CA 95747 during normal business hours. Prizes must be redeemed by 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, and will become null and void after that time. 

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest. Open only to residents of California who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of the City of Roseville, their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household are NOT ELIGIBLE. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Failure to comply with official rules will result in disqualification. 

Winner will be notified via email. By accepting prize, winner agrees to hold harmless the City of Roseville and its respective directors, contractors, officers, managers, agents, employees and assigns from any and all liability with respect to the contestant’s participation in the contest and/or receipt and/or use of the prize. By participating in this contest, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decision of administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes express permission to the Utility Exploration Center to use winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. 

The UEC reserves the right to terminate or declare the contest null and void and rescind any prize, if in its sole judgment, the rules or the integrity of the contest have been violated or compromised in any way, intentionally or unintentionally by any person whether or not a participant in the contest. All decisions of the UEC regarding the interpretation of these rules and the decision to award the prize shall be final.

Photography Release: City of Roseville staff reserve the right to use your posted photograph and/or audio/video recording for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as print and on-line advertising. Participants will not be paid or receive anything related to the City’s use of participant’s photograph and/or recording. All photographs and recordings will remain the property of the City and the City reserves the right to alter or edit any photographs and/or recordings at its discretion. Participants agree to release the City from any and all legal claims participant or a third party may have arising from the use of participant’s photograph and/or audio/video recording.
