Experience spirited drive-thru fun at Count Watts’ Spooktacular

Updated September 14, 2020
Count Watts, the friendly energy-saving vampire, invites your family to keep the excitement of Halloween alive in a safe, entertaining, drive-thru experience!

Decorate your car and join in a free adventure from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27 in the parking lot at Mahany Park, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville.

Count Watts’ Spooktacular will feature several mini drive-thru stations engaging your family in the science and power of electricity. The experience will last about 5-10 minutes. Children aged 2 and up will receive instructions for some electric-themed activities to do at home plus a spooky treat in a Count Watts bag (while supplies last).

“Count Watts is serving up some thrills a little differently this year,” says Brayden Mitchell, of the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. “At Spooktacular, we like to show visitors how to hunt down Voltage Vampires in their homes. Voltage Vampires are appliances that use energy even when they are turned off or in standby mode, and unplugging this Phantom Energy can save residents energy and money. This year, participants will learn how to knock out energy waste while having some silly fun from the safety of their car.”

No registration is necessary for the free event sponsored by Roseville Electric Utility. Just drive on up! Please note there may be some wait times. For safety reasons, participants are asked to remain in their vehicles throughout the event. Masks are recommended when driving through with windows down. In the event of rain, drive-thru Spooktacular will be canceled.
