The Shingle Springs Band Cultural Resources Division is proud to present
Booyéem Mowí K’ut’í Méyt’omatoy, the first Nisenan language storybook in the Nisenan Storytelling Collection!
Please join the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indian’s Language Department and Exhibits & Collections Center staff for an interactive reading of Jackrabbit Gave Antlers to Deer in Nisenan and English, followed by Nisenan-language games, art activities and refreshments. The book is an adaptation of a traditional Nisenan story, created by the Shingle Springs Rancheria community as part of the Cultural Resources Division's ongoing language and cultural revitalization efforts.
This is a free event and welcomes visitors of all ages. Light refreshments will be served.
