Volunteer for the Utility Exploration Center to help make a difference in your community, meet new friends, be creative and share your passion and skills in a fun and stimulating environment.

Qualifications:

  • 14 years of age or older (must be 18 or older to be an Interpretive Volunteer)
  • Desire to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Experience working with children
  • 1 year commitment / 9 month school year commitment for teen volunteers

Visitor Center and Outreach Volunteers

Introduce the community to the wonders of the Utility Exploration Center. Assist with staffing the Exhibit Hall, workshops, special events and outreach booths. Volunteers are integral in creating a welcoming environment for our visitors. When staffing the Exhibit Hall, our Volunteers help answer a variety of visitor questions, and provide general assistance.

Teen Volunteers

Looking for volunteer hours for school or thinking about a career in Customer Service, Museum Studies or Environmental Interpretation? Join us in our Exhibit Hall on weekday afternoons or Saturdays to get first-hand experience as you explore future career options. Gain new experiences and insight through giving back and helping others. Grow your leadership and communication skills by greeting families, assisting visitors as they explore our interactive exhibits, and providing general support.

Interpretive Volunteers

Have a passion for helping the next generation learn how they can make a difference? Interpretive volunteers assist our staff with exhibit hall interpretation and school programs like field trips and in-class visits focused on waste reduction, energy conservations, watershed protection and water efficiency for local students from pre-school to 8th grade.
