Easily managing your utility bill, quickly finding needed information on the City’s website, and simplifying your business transactions with the City are all parts of Roseville’s technology focus.
The Center for Digital Government (CDG) recognized the City’s efforts to improve the life of our residents through technology with a national 2019 Digital Cities Survey award. The Survey, now in its 19th year, recognizes cities that use technology to tackle social challenges, the enhancement of services, the strengthening of cybersecurity, and other issues.
The competition has five categories, each defined by population size. In cities with populations of 125,000 to 249,999 residents, Roseville received a 10th place recognition, nationally.
“Congratulations to this year’s Digital Cities winners, who are working to make their communities more secure, user-friendly, efficient, and resilient,” said Teri Takai, executive director for CDG. “Their efforts are making technology a driver of better, smarter, more responsive government.”
“Smart, seamless, and secure are our goals with any online interaction,” said Roseville Chief Information Officer Hong Sae. “With more of the City’s interaction with our residents and businesses being online, we will be constantly improving those services to meet our customer’s needs.”
Earlier this year, Roseville received two additional national awards from the same organization. The first recognition recognized Roseville as one of five national winners of the “Overall City Government Experience Award.” The second national award recognized the EngageRoseville project’s use of technology to address the funding shortfall associated with the City’s General Budget.
The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government.
