Ready your rakes for Curbside Leaf Pickup

Updated October 19, 2022

Changing of the seasons means curbside leaf pickup time begins October 31 and continues through January 13, 2023.

Roseville's curbside leaf pickup service helps prevent fallen front yard leaves from clogging stormwater drains and washing into our creeks and streams, disturbing the sensitive ecological balance and threatening plants and wildlife.

Please keep in mind, Public Works crews cannot pick up any bags that contain other green waste, branches, rocks, animal waste, or metal. If a bag contains any unacceptable materials, crews will place a notice on your door and leave the bag(s) in front of the residence for you to remove. As a reminder, leaves cannot be removed from commercial properties, gated, or private communities.

The City offers two pickup options depending on your address:

  • Leaf Pile Pickup - rake front yard leaves into piles on the street in front of your home, keeping piles at least three feet from parked cars and away from storm drain inlets. We'll come by with our “Tink” machine and load leaves into a refuse truck for recycling.
  • Bagged Leaf Pickup - Place only front yard leaves in a sealed bag. Each bag must weigh less than 40 pounds. Place the sealed bags in your driveway near the curb or in the street away from standing water and out of the gutter so you do not impede storm water flow.
    • Submit your request for pickup here, or call our message line (916) 774-5842 and specify:
      • Your name
      • Contact phone number
      • Address
      • Number of bags ready for pick up

Determine whether bagged or loose-leaf pickup is available in your area:

  1. Enter your address into the search box and hit "enter."
  2. Click on the colored area of your street.
  3. In the new window that opens, click on the image for printable instructions for your area.
