Increase conservation to avoid rolling outages.

Extreme heat is putting a strain on the grid. Roseville Electric and other utilities across the state are working hard to avoid rotating outages. We are asking all customers to conserve electricity from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Residential customers can help by raising thermostat settings to 78 degrees or higher, limiting the use of major appliances and turning off unnecessary lights. Commercial customers can reduce the use of lighting as well as office and maintenance equipment to lower the demand for electricity.

In the case of rotating outages within the Roseville Electric service territory, we will notify impacted customers with as much advance warning as possible, utilizing our text notification system, outage webpage, and social media platforms. A rotating outage typically lasts one to two hours. We manage and rotate the outage across groups of customers throughout the service territory to protect the integrity of our electric system, while limiting the inconvenience to any one customer group.
