Enjoy a flash light tour examining rare rock carvings, or petroglyphs, at the Maidu Museum. Thousands of years ago, people carved special designs into sandstone outcropping at what is now the Maidu Museum and Historic Site. Over time some of the fine details the designs on the petroglyphs have eroded away and can be difficult to see in daylight.
Led by an expert tour guide, you can see the petroglyphs like few have. Special lighting at night brings out carved details that are not visible at any other time. This is a unique experience that is only available twice a year.
