Victim was working as a door-dash driver went to pick up an order. While picking up the order they used the restroom and accidentally left a Carhartt bag inside. When Victim realized it was missing and recovered the bag it was discovered that two wallets had been stolen from inside the bag along with California driver’s license, social security card, and a variety of debit and credit cards. |

The victim received a Ring doorbell notification that 3 Amazon packages were delivered to the front porch and observed the Amazon delivery employee drop off packages with a total value of about $1,100. Approximately 15 minutes later Victim received another Ring doorbell notification that there was someone at the front door. Upon reviewing the camera footage an unknown Suspect had stolen the packages from the front porch. The Suspect had walked up to the front porch, quickly picked up the packages, and concealed them inside of a backpack, then quickly walked away. |

Victim received a text from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) informing that an unknown suspect had attempted to submit a 2023 tax return using Victim's social security number. Victim has not yet filed a 2023 tax return and did not give anyone permission to file a tax return on their behalf. A subsequent phone call to the IRS confirmed that the text was legitimate and an attempt to file a fraudulent tax return occurred. |

Victim was reached out to on Facebook by someone pretending to be daughter's mother-in-law. They informed Victim there was a $150,000 grant for retired, widows, disabled, unemployed, "old people", or anyone that is experiencing financial issues, that could be applied for. Victim just needed to send in $1000 via a gift card to qualify for the grant and was told not to tell anyone because it would be a surprise. After sending the gift card Victim's daughter was consulted and it became apparent this was a scam. |
