Little Learners Tours are designed for a younger audience. Focusing on hands on learning and exploration, Little Learners Tours aim to engage young students to learning about our historic sites natural and cultural history. (1 hr)

School Tour webpage. Each chaperone is an additional cost. Teachers and in-classroom assistant (i.e. paraeducators, case managers) are free. Payment due two weeks before first scheduled tour.
Museum Tour (Half Day tour): Be guided through the Maidu Museum exhibits and participate in activities to learn about Nisenan Maidu society. Students will learn about past and present Nisenan peoples, hear a native story and play the traditional Stave Game and the new Trade Game. (1 ½ hours)
Trail Tour (Half Day tour): Explore our 34 acre historic site with a tour guide and learn about the how the Nisenan Maidu thrive in the area. You will see 4,000 year old petroglyphs, hundreds of grinding holes and many native plants and animals. And, the most popular part of this tour, students will be able to try ochre face painting. (1 ½ hours)
Full Day Program: Our most popular tour option. Students will have one tour (Museum or Trail) in the morning and, after a 30 minute lunch, will go on the next tour in the afternoon. (3 ½ hours)
Recommended for 3rd to 6th grade
Group size
Each tour group can be up to 30 people including teachers and adult chaperones. We can accommodate up to 3 tour groups per day.
