Spring fun for kids

We plan and prep the activities so you and your child can maximize your fun at these classes. These classes are for a wide variety of ages and interests. You can find more information on each program in the Recreation Guide.

 Cooking Classes – Various Dates

Let your kids cook dinner for you! We have some fun culinary classes coming up that feature a different variety of foods like Chinese Cuisine, Breakfast Favorites, Pizza and more!

Slime Time - 3/14

Slime is all the rage but who will to deal with all the mess? We will! Create a variety of slimes using Mad Science recipes and then enter the Slime Olympics! This workshop demystifies one of the most fascinating and beneficial molecules known to humans: polymers.

How Does Your Garden Grow? - 3/14

Join us as we explore what grows and lives in a garden. Create edible bugs, design your own flower garden, and make bug themed crafts. Parent participation is required.

Music Exploration – 3/21

Want to try out something new? This class offers students a unique opportunity to get to know a variety of musical instruments, from guitar and ukulele to drums.

Little Chefs – Around the World | Course ID: 00016953 | 4/6-4/9

Join our 4 day tour of international cuisines: Chinese, French, Italian, and Mexican. Learn how to make dishes such as fondue, chocolate pastry, handmade pasta, sweet & sour chicken, and tacos with handmade tortillas.

NASA: Journey into Outer Space | Course ID: 00016686 | 4/6-4/10

Mad Science and NASA have teamed up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in this new voyage of discovery. Participants explore a real rocket launch, watch star dust burn, create a lunar eclipse and more.

Coding Camp | Course ID: 00016076  | 4/6-4/8

Introduction to coding using visual blocks through Code.org and Tynker. Collaborate and create simple games, puzzles, animations, and stories. For youth with no previous coding experience. Minimum third grade reading level required.

Pancakes with Pete the Cat | Saturday, 4/18

Kick off National Library Week with Pete the Cat! Pancakes will be served and the event will feature story time and hands on craft activities. Children under 1 are free. All other attendees must register.
