With the goal of providing our residents the right information at the right time and improving community engagement, two City of Roseville technology projects were recognized with national awards from the Center for Digital Government in their 3rd annual Government Experience Awards.
According to the
Center for Digital Government, the awards recognize the achievements and best practices of states, cities, and counties that are radically improving the experience of government and pushing the boundaries of how citizen services are delivered.
The City was one of five national winners of the “Overall City Government Experience Award.” This award recognizes the city’s efforts in creating an updated city website and intranet emphasizing transparency and ease of use.
“The Government Experience Award winners from this year are not just leveraging innovative tools to amplify their reach, they are also going the extra mile to build a proper foundation to support the future,” said Dustin Haisler, chief innovation officer for the Center for Digital Government.
“The entire project team tackled this challenge by creating a couple of great websites that put the consumer first,” said Roseville Chief Information Officer Hong Sae. “The employees embraced a diverse set of technologies to provide information to our audiences in a secure, informative format. I’m very proud that we were successful in our efforts to interact with our community, and honored that our industry peers rewarded our projects with this national recognition.”
The second award from the Center for Digital Government recognized the city’s 18-month community
EngageRoseville project.
Through EngageRoseville, the community provided service priorities through several different technologies as the city prepared for possible budget reductions. The community feedback led to the placement of
Measure B, a half-cent sales tax, on the November 2018 ballot and will influence future city budget development.
