The City of Roseville offers free pick-up service for residential household hazardous waste items. This program is for household hazardous waste generated by residential activities only. Materials that appear to come from a business, contractor, or non-residential operation are not eligible and will be left behind. Please use the link below to schedule your appointment.

Items collected include:
  • Automotive and household batteries (taping the battery ends is required for pick up)
  • Fluorescent light tubes (four feet and smaller, maximum 10 per appointment), fluorescent bulbs, and other mercury-containing lamps
  • Older thermostats and thermometers that contain mercury
  • Electronic items such as televisions, computers, computer monitors, and printers
  • DVD and VCRs, stereos, cell phones, and radios
  • Cooking Fats, Oils and Grease (must be sealed in a plastic container and clearly marked)
  • Motor oil and filters (must be sealed in a plastic container and clearly marked)
  • Paint (up to five gallons per appointment)
  • Automotive fluids (must be sealed and in the original container)
  • Chemicals, cleaners, and solvents (must be sealed and in the original container)

Preparation and collection guidelines:
  • A minimum of 20 pounds or five different item types is required to schedule an appointment
  • Maximum pick-up is 15 gallons or 125 pounds total per appointment
  • Place all items outside in an easily accessible location. Collection staff will not go inside homes, behind gates, or upstairs to retrieve materials.
  • Whenever possible, keep HHW in its original, undamaged container. No glass containers.
  • Only items reported during scheduling will be collected.
  • Only hazardous waste and e-waste are eligible.
  • Batteries must be intact, non-leaking, and free of visible damage or corrosion to be collected. Tape the ends of old batteries with clear tape before disposing of them.
  • Items exceeding limits may be left behind at the driver's discretion for safety reasons.

Appointments are required for collection. Items left out without an appointment will NOT be collected.
