The Blue Oaks Boulevard Roadway & Bridge Widening Project will alleviate a critical traffic pinch point, allowing faster access between the local highways and interstate.
The proposed project includes:
- One westbound lane will be added in the median for approximately one mile of Blue Oaks, from Woodcreek Oaks to just past Foothills Boulevard.
- Adding a second bridge span adjacent to the current bridge, increasing lane capacity from two in each direction to four lanes in each direction. This overpass allows vehicles to travel over a major railroad freight corridor and Industrial Avenue.
Blue Oaks Boulevard serves Roseville as well as Rocklin, Lincoln, and Placer County.
The roadway upgrades will provide an improved connection from south Placer communities to:
- One of the region’s major interstate highways.
- Two future university campuses currently being designed.
- Placer Parkway, a planned four lane, limited access, grade separated expressway connecting the region to Sacramento and its international airport.
The estimated cost is $30 million, which will be funded by developer-paid Traffic Mitigation Fees and grants.
These Traffic Mitigation Fees are gradually collected as development occurs and help the City to construct transportation projects identified in the
Capital Improvement Program. Improvements address anticipated traffic impacts from new and existing development projects.
