This July, let's come together to commemorate National Park
and Recreation Month with Roseville Parks, Recreation & Libraries (PRL).
We're excited to showcase how Roseville has become even stronger, more vibrant,
and more enjoyable, thanks to the incredible contributions of our parks and
recreation department within our community. It’s where community grows.
“July is the perfect
time to share how our park and recreation professionals in Roseville contribute
to the overall health, well-being and growth of our community,” says Director
of Parks, Recreation & Libraries Jill Geller. "Our dedicated team is
leading the way with various initiatives and creating opportunities for people
of all ages, abilities and identities. We strive to promote healthier
lifestyles, foster a deep connection with nature and foster a strong sense of
community through our diverse range of programs and services.”
National Gold Medal finalist
Roseville PRL was recently named as a finalist for the
prestigious National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation
Management for the second year in a row! The award is given out by the American
Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA), in partnership with the
National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The Gold Medal Awards program
honors communities in the United States that demonstrate excellence in parks
and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism,
environmental stewardship, program development, professional development and
agency recognition. This year's winners will be announced at the 2023 NRPA
Annual Conference in October.
