For the past several years, the Roseville Police Department has partnered with the staff and students at Diamond Creek Elementary school to collect and deliver toys for kids in need. Over the years, the school has collected thousands of toys that are given out those less fortunate in the City.
This year, the school collected over 500 toys! There was only one problem, the demand for toys has greatly increased over the past few years. This year, in coordination with the City’s income-qualified apartment complexes, we needed at least 1000 toys for each of the kids in need.
The challenge was on and in true Roseville fashion, our community came through. An anonymous resident donated 30 gift cards, specifically for teens in need. Community members dropped off toys and our local chapter of Toys for Tots came through with a huge donation of 400 toys.
Then, this past Saturday, we gathered our team which comprised of students from Diamond Creek, Roseville Police, and Roseville/Rocklin SWAT to deliver to five apartment complexes throughout the City.
We were proud to be a part of this amazing effort to provide toys to those that may not get much this year.
These efforts were coordinated by School Resource Officer Hance but… it truly took the whole community to accomplish. A huge thanks to everyone who donated!
