Enjoy an evening filled with music, poetry, and story with author and musician Al Striplen. Al Striplen (Amah Mutsun Ohlone/Aztec) has been a long-time docent at the California State Indian Museum where he teaches Native American flute and share stories of Native cultures. Al performs intuitive playing where he creates music to reflect his emotions, Nature, or vision in the moment. Recently he recorded an album of Native American flute music. In addition to his music, Al has written and illustrated several children’s books. He is currently working on the next book.
This event will highlight Al’s intuitive playing style of Native American flute and new artwork and poetry. Al will also explore the history of the flute in Native American culture. Doors open at 6:30 pm and program starts at 7 pm.
