With $100 million in new contracts, Nate’s Fine Foods plans $11 million expansion

Updated November 21, 2024
The expansion would create $924 million in economic output and 75 jobs

Nate’s Fine Foods, based in Roseville since 2012, is a full-service cooking and packing facility for the food service industry that uses locally sourced products and natural ingredients to support major food industry clients nationwide. Fueled by $100 million in new client contracts, the company plans to invest $11 million to expand its Roseville facilities, driving $924 million in total regional economic output and creating 75 additional full-time jobs.

“Northern California has been great for us, being in the Farm-to-Fork Capital. We love operating in Roseville and look forward to deepening our roots here with our expansion,” explained Nathan Barker, CEO and Founder of Nate’s Fine Foods. “Our business continues to evolve and we continue to find an amazing workforce here in South Placer.”

Nate’s Fine Foods is finalizing plans for construction of additional facilities valued at roughly $11 million, including $6.2 million in construction and building upgrades and $5 million in additional equipment from 2025 through 2027. It hopes to break ground in 2025 and complete all improvements by 2027. This project will create nearly $924 million in estimated total regional economic output over five years, out of which nearly $593 million is a direct impact of the company itself, including 75 additional full-time permanent company jobs beyond construction.

“Nate’s Fine Foods is a great example of the growth opportunities our region offers to internationally-founded businesses,” explained Barry Broome, President & CEO of Greater Sacramento Economic Council. “We are happy to see them thriving and preparing to expand with a major investment in South Placer infrastructure and workforce.”

The expansion is expected to create new job opportunities for residents and stimulate local business growth, contributing to a vibrant economy. With Nate’s commitment to quality and community engagement, Roseville can look forward to a strengthened local food culture that values sustainability and supports local farmers and suppliers.  Nate’s Fine Foods continues to lead the way in the quick-service food sector, and we are sure you’ll enjoy the taste and convenience of fully cooked pasta, grains, and rice as much as we do.
“I’m delighted to see Nate’s Fine Foods growing here in our community,” said Krista Bernasconi, Vice Mayor of the City of Roseville. “Their expansion brings new job opportunities and strengthens local partnerships, while also offering healthy, high-quality food options for our residents. We look forward to the positive impact they will continue to have on our city.”
Nathan Barker selected Roseville as the company’s U.S. headquarters after moving from Australia. Since opening 12 years ago, Nate’s Fine Foods has expanded from providing fully cooked pasta, grains and rice to its food service kitchen and product clients and expanded to include locally sourced vegetables.
